The Department of Banking and Insurance (NJ) sent out a bulletin (10-30) on October 28, 2010 to all New Jersey Private Passenger Automobile Insureres and Motorbus Insurers and the National Arbitration Forum in regards to rules on PIP reimbursement. Before the new fee schedule became effective on 8/10/09 providers were billing according to their usual, customary, and reasonable charges. This bulletin now allows for DRP's and Insurer's to reimburse providers by referencing Ingenix and the Wasserman database for fees that are not on the fee schedule. In our opinion we find this unfair as Insureres were paying the provider's charges for years and then all of the sudden decide to pay at rates that are more convienant to the Insurance companies.
